Genbu Onsen

A hot spring located 10km north of Shizukuishi Town, along the road to Amihari Onsen. The Kakoneda River flows nearby, making it a quiet environment perfect for relaxation. It is also a convenient base for mountain stream fishing and autumn foliage viewing. Chloride hot spring containing sodium bicarbonate. Effective for rheumatism and neuralgia. There are three accommodation facilities.

Hotel Shidodaira [Shidodaira Onsen]

A resort hotel where you can experience the feeling of being on a journey while staying inside the hotel. In addition to baths where you can enjoy Iwate's four seasons and one of the largest buffets in Tohoku, there are also plenty of on-site facilities such as a heated pool that can be used all year round and the "Asobi no Mori" that can be enjoyed by parents and children.

Lacquerware Appi lacquerware

Hachimantai City has long been known as one of the leading producers of lacquerware in the Tohoku region. Appi lacquerware was born by combining Hachimantai's long-cultivated traditional techniques with young sensibilities. It is characterized by a luxurious ``lacquer base'' that is coated with lacquer over ten times.

Shizukuishi Takakura Onsen

There is a large open-air bath on the south side of the Shizukuishi Prince Hotel overlooking Mt. Iwate, a magnificent peak known as Southern Katafuji.It is perfect for refreshing yourself by soaking in the hot springs after playing golf or skiing.

Hotel Remnant Uguisudoku [Uguisudoku Onsen]

A newly renovated inn for overnight stays that opened in December 2018. You can stay in a hot spring bath fed directly from the source at a reasonable price.

Shinobi piece

This simple horse doll made of rice straw is unique to the Hanamaki region. There are many horse-related local toys in Japan, but this is unique to Hanamaki. Legend has it that people made straw horses for love, etc., and delivered them secretly at night to the Kannon Hall of Enmanji Temple, where they were wrapped in yellow or red cloth in gratitude for the fulfillment of their wishes.
