Yakushi Park

This park is located on a hill in the city center, offering a panoramic view of the city and Kamaishi Bay. Inside the park, there is a statue of a woman erected to comfort the spirits of war victims and pray for peace, as well as a monument commemorating Yosuke Takahashi, who devoted himself to the development of the Kamaishi Steel Works. Approximately 200 cherry trees are in full bloom in spring.

Kamaishi Daikannon

Kamaishi Daikannon stands at the tip of Kamazaki, watching over Kamaishi Bay. The height is 48.5 meters, and the interior is divided into 13 floors, with the 1st to 3rd floors containing the worship hall and the enshrinement room for the 33 Kannons, the 4th to 10th floors are dedicated to the Seven Lucky Gods, and the 12th to 13th floors are where Kannon is held. It is now a fish basket observation deck that appears above the fish. From this observatory at a height of 120 meters above sea level, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean.

This is an Indo-Sri Lankan Western-style pagoda that enshrines the ashes of Buddha, a gift from the Kelaniya Vihara in the Republic of Sri Lanka. Inside, there is a pagoda containing Buddha's relics and a hall dedicated to the founders of each sect of Buddhism.
