Gindoro Park

Gindoro is a silvery white tree with white undersides of the leaves. This park is the former site of Hanamaki Agricultural School, where Kenji was a teacher, and many gingko trees, which Kenji loved, are planted there. Inside the park, there is a poem monument inscribed with a line from Kenji's ``Early Spring,'' and there is also a group of stone statues of ``Kaze no Matasaburo'' (a work that won the first Outdoor Sculpture Award by Sapporo poet Arata Hongo). Many Kenji fans come here.

Seika-no-Yu [Tai Onsen] (Day trip bathing facility)

Seika-no-Yu opened as a day trip bathing facility in Dai Onsen, Hanamaki City. The hot water, which is changed daily, is slightly alkaline, but has a faint sulfur smell, making it popular. A new indoor bath has been built at the inn, which was once used as a recreation center for Nippon Steel Kamaishi, and the tatami-covered guest room is now being used as the Sobabo Kamiya. ``Kamiya Soba,'' a set of yam and zaru soba, is made with 100% buckwheat core flour without the use of binders, so you can enjoy the smooth texture and the natural sweetness of soba.
